Graduate Thesis – As part of my graduate degree, I was tasked with completing a thesis relevant to the field of Jazz Studies. My topic was the Cultural Contributions of The Dorsey Brothers, Les Brown, and Pearl Bailey to the Anthracite Coal Region of Pennsylvania. In the paper (see attached below), I examined the relationships between the artists and the area, how both parties left a lasting influence on one another, and how their legacies must be preserved for future generations. Being a native of the Coal Region, this topic was very near and dear to my heart! I sincerely hope that you enjoy reading the paper, and that you learn something from it.
